20. Henry Thomas COCHRANE [ Parents ]. Born 18/5/1883 in 12 Gibraltar Walk, Bethnal Green and baptized 3/8/1888 in St Matthias, Stoke Newington. Henry Thomas died 10/5/1936 in Southend-on- Sea, Essex, age 52. Cause of death certified as “1a. Broncho-pneumonia due to (b) Operation (Partial Gastrectomy) due to (c) Carcinoma of the Stomach”. Occupation: Painter and paper hanger. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads: “COCHRANE Henry Thomas of 70 Nicholas Lane Laindon Essex died 10 May 1936 at General Hospital Southend-on-Sea Essex Administration London 22 February [1939] to Emma Lilian Cochrane widow. Effects £443 17s.” (Worth around £30,000 today.) On 15/1/1905, when Henry Thomas was age 21, he married Emma Lilian PEARCE , daughter of Albert PEARCE , a painter, in St Matthias Church, Stoke Newington. Emma Lilian was born about 1884 in Islington and died 1953 in Brentwood, Essex, age about 69. They had the following children: (1) Henry John Albert , born 30/12/1906 in Stoke Newington and died November 1920 in Hackney, age 13. Henry John Albert was buried 6/11/1920 in Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington. (2) Gladys Emily , born 31/3/1909 in Islington. It’s not known when Gladys Emily died. (3) Charles Frederick , born 24/5/1912 in Hackney and died 1981 in Hounslow, age 68. On 2/9/1939, when Charles Frederick was age 27, he married Nellie Elizabeth JONES in Brentford. Nellie Elizabeth was born 22/2/1913 and died in December 1996 in Hounslow, age 83. (4) Florence Doris , born 30/5/1914 in Stoke Newington. It’s not known when Florence Doris died. 21. Arthur Charles COCHRANE [ Parents ]. Born 5/7/1886 at 70 Shakespeare Road, South Hornsey, Arthur Charles died 1963 in Edmonton, age 76. Occupation: Plumber. On 16/11/1908, when Arthur Charles was age 22, he married Edith Rose MARSDEN , daughter of William MARSDEN (deceased) at the Parish Church, Stoke Newington. Edith Rose was born about 1881 in Islington and died 1959 in Edmonton, age about 78. They had the following child: (1) Stanley Arthur , born 23/5/1909 in Stoke Newington and died 1980 in Chelsea, age 71.
