78. John George CHAPPLE [Parents]. Baptized 6/9/1870 in Kilmington, Devon. John
George died 1924 in Morriston, Glamorgan. Occupation: Confectioner.
On 26/7/1892, when he was 22, John George married Alice THOMAS in Swansea, Glamorgan.
Alice was born about 1871 in South Shields, County Durham.
They had the following children:
(1) Amelia, born quarter ending December 1893 in Swansea. (2) Frances Ella, born
quarter ending September 1895 in Morriston, Glamorgan. (3) Thornhill George [98].
(4) Richard John, born quarter ending March 1900 in Swansea. (5) Reginald Redvers,
born quarter ending December 1901 in Swansea.
(6) George, born quarter ending June
1904 in Swansea.
79. Frederick CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born quarter ending March 1880 in Axminster. Frederick
died in 1963, age 83.
In the quarter ending June 1901, when Frederick was age 21, he married May LUMLEY
in Fulham.
May was born quarter ending June 1881 in Kensington and died 1943, age
about 62.
They had the following children, both born in Fulham:
(1) Frederick John Cecil, born quarter ending December 1903. (2) Lilian Beatrice
Ruth, born quarter ending June 1909 .
80. Arthur CHAPPLE
[Parents]. Born 6/7/1870 in Hackney, London, and baptized 18/2/1872
at St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. Arthur died 17/11/1946 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada,
age 76.
On 5/8/1894, when Arthur was 23, he married Elizabeth Catherine WARREN, daughter
of Amos WARREN, a brewer’s labourer, at St Andrew’s Church, Bethnal Green, London.
They had the following children:
(1) Arthur Ernest [99]. (2)
Albert Edward, born 17/5/1897 in London. Albert Edward
died 25/1/1921 in Nelson (now Burlington), Ontario, Canada, age 23 and was buried
in Hamilton Cemetery. Albert Edward Chapple served in the Canadian Expeditionary
Force in WW1, 86th machine gun battery. Regimental number 174821. He was accepted
for military service 5/10/1915. See Albert’s Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force
Attestation Papers and The Canadian Virtual War Memorial. (3) Elizabeth Katherine,
born 1/6/1899 in London. Elizabeth Katherine died about 1980 in Hamilton, Ontario,
Canada, age 80. Elizabeth Katherine married Albert ABEL. (4) Florence Emma, born
19/8/1900 in London. Florence Emma died about 1980 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada,
age 79. Florence Emma married Frederick ADAMS. (5) William Henry [100]. (6) Rose
Lilian, born 13/9/1906 in London and died about 1990, age 83. Rose Lilian married
William MAUL. (7) Amy Clara, born 6/7/1908 in Oshawa, Canada. Amy Clara died about
1998 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, age 89. (8) Walter Henry, born 31/10/1909 in
Oshawa, Canada. Walter Henry died 2/3/1989 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, age 79.
Walter Henry married Lavern Gertrude SMITH. Lavern Gertrude died 13/2/1986.
81. Charles Frederick CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born on 28/1/1872 in Hackney, London, and
baptized 18/2/1872 at St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. Charles Frederick died 14/6/1949,
age 77 and was buried on 16/6/1949 in Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington.
On 1/4/1896 when Charles Frederick was 24, he married Emily BAKER, daughter of George
A. BAKER & Emily COCHRANE, in Shoreditch. Born 6/1/1872 in Shoreditch, Emily died
on 3/10/1932, age 60 and was buried 10/10/1932 in Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington.
They had the following children:
(1) Violet Emily, born 24/11/1896 in Shoreditch and baptized 20/12/1896 at St Leonards,
Shoreditch. Violet died 4/3/1990 in Truro, age 93. In the quarter ending June 1925,
when Violet Emily was age 28, she married Edgar Orland MOBBS, son of William Orland
MOBBS and Alice ASHPOLE. Edgar was born 5/10/1901 in Islington and baptized 1/12/1901
at St Paul's, Canonbury, Islington. Their children are thought to be still alive.
(2) Dorothy Catherine, born July 1899 in Bethnal Green and baptized 2/8/1899 at
St Andrew, Bethnal Green. Dorothy Catherine died 1926, age about 26. (3) Ivy May,
born 9/4/1902 in Edmonton. Ivy May died in Ware, Herts 24/1/1993, age 90. On 27/12/1923
when Ivy May was 21, she married Alfred Thomas JOHNSON, son of James Robert JOHNSON
& Frances Elizabeth PARRIS, at Hackney Register Office. (4) Olive Grace, born on
4/7/1907 in Edmonton. Olive Grace died 17/2/2000, age 92. On 10/7/1928, when Olive
Grace was 21, she married William Albert STUART. Born 17/1/1906, William Albert died
12/11/1984, age 78. (5) Charles George William [101]. (6) Frederick [102].
82. Walter Henry CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 26/3/1879 in Mile End, London, and baptized
4/5/1879 at St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. Walter Henry died quarter ending March 1970
in Lewes, Sussex, age 70.
On 3/8/1902, when Walter Henry was age 22, he married Clara Emma BROADRICK, daughter of Bartholomew & Sarah BROADRICK, at Holy Trinity Church, Gray's Inn Road, London. Clara Emma was born 4/10/1879 in Peckham and baptized 23/8/1881 at Holy Trinity Church, Gray's Inn Road.
They had the following children, all born in Shoreditch:
(1) Walter Henry, born quarter ending June 1903. (2) John, born quarter ending September
1905. (3) Clara Emma, born quarter ending September 1907.
83. James CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 1848 in Beer, Devon. James died 1903, age 55.
Occupation: Mariner.
In 1865 when James was 17, he married Elizabeth LEYMAN, in Axminster. Born in 1847, Elizabeth died 1910 in Axminster, age about 63.
They had the following children:
(1) Robert James [103]. (2) William Henry [104]. (3) Charles, born quarter ending
March 1876 in Beer. (4) Harold, born quarter ending December 1877 in Beer. In the
quarter ending March 1905, when Harold was age about 27, he married Minnie Searle
MOORE in Axminster. Minnie was born quarter ending March 1884 in St Thomas, Devon
and died 7/8/1910 in Beer, age 25. (5) Cecil Frank, born quarter ending December
1886 in Beer. (6) Frederick Percy [105].
84. Charles CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born about 1854 in Beer. It is not known when Charles
died.
In the quarter ending March 1876, when Charles was age about 21, he married Sarah
Elizabeth BANBURY in Axminster. Sarah Elizabeth was born about 1853 in Beer.
They had the following children, all born Beer:
(1) Claude John, born quarter ending March 1877. (2) Gertrude Helen, born quarter ending December 1878. (3) Arthur Edward, born quarter ending December 1880. (4) Irene M, born quarter ending September 1885.
