Third Generation
4. Robert WAKELY [ Parents ]. Baptized 17/4/1834 in Symondsbury and died in March 1865, age 30. He was buried 30/3/1865 in Symondsbury. On 10/4/1860, when Robert was age 25, he married Ellen Matilda MATTHEWS , daughter of Joseph MATTHEWS , a Yeoman, in the Parish Church, Borthenhampton, Dorset. Ellen was born about 1839 in Borthenhampton. It’s not known when she died. They had the following child: (1) Daniel Robert [ 6 ] . 5. Daniel Cox WAKELY [ Parents ]. Baptized 21/7/1842 in Symondsbury and died 30/1/1905 in Higher Woodsford, age 62. Daniel was buried 4/2/1905 in Woodsford. Occupation: Given as Farmer in the baptism register entry for son Robert. An entry in the National Probate Calendar reads: “WAKELY Daniel Cox of Higher Woodsford Dorsetshire died 30 January 1905 Administration London 17 October to Robert Wakely provision merchant. Effects £365 15s. 6d.” (Worth around £42,456 today.) On 16/2/1865, when Daniel was age 22, he married Jane MARSH in Allington, Dorset. Jane was born about 1844 in Allington. It’s not known when she died. They had the following children: (1) William Alfred , born 14/7/1866 in Loders, Dorset and baptized there 7/10/1866. William Alfred died 1874, age 8. (2) Robert [ 7 ] . (3) Alfred Henry , baptized 26/3/1869 in Beaminster, Dorset. (4) Elizabeth Jane , baptized 23/10/1870 in Beaminster. (5) Daniel Cox , baptized 15/12/1874, and died shortly afterwards, in Beaminster. (6) William John , baptized 23/4/1876 at Holy Trinity Church, Beaminster. (7) Ada Mary , born about 1879 in Melbury Osmond, Dorset. (8) Herbert , born about 1881 in Melbury Osmond. (9) Annie Marsh , born about 1882 in Melbury Osmond. (10) Ernest Robert , born about 1886 in Melbury Osmond. (11) Reginald , born about 1890 in Moreton, Dorset.
