Fourth Generation

10.  Henry Thomas COCHRANE [Parents]. Born quarter ending June 1883 in Bethnal Green and baptized 3/8/1888 in St Matthias, Stoke Newington. Henry Thomas died 10/5/1936 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, age about 52.

 

An entry in the England & Wales National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills & Administrations) 1861-1941 reads: “COCHRANE Henry Thomas of 70 Nicholas Lane Laindon Essex died 10 May 1936 at General Hospital Southend-on-Sea Essex Administration London 22 February [1939] to Emma Lilian Cochrane widow. Effects £443  17s.”  (Worth around £13,000 today.)

 

Occupation: Painter & paper hanger.
 

On 15/1/1905, when Henry Thomas was age 21, he married Emma Lilian PEARCE, daughter of Albert PEARCE, a painter, in St Matthias Church, Stoke Newington.  Emma Lilian was born about  1884 in Islington. Emma Lilian died quarter ending December 1953 in Brentwood, Essex, age about 69.
 

They had the following children:

 

(1) Henry John Albert, born 1907 in Stoke Newington and died November 1920, age 13. Henry John Albert was buried 6/11/1920 in Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington. (2) Gladys Emily, born 1909 in Islington.
 

11. Arthur Charles COCHRANE [Parents].  Born quarter ending  September 1886 in Hornsey.  Arthur Charles died quarter ending June 1963 in Edmonton, age 76. Occupation: Plumber.
 

On 16/11/1908, when Arthur Charles was age 22, he married Edith Rose MARSDEN, daughter of William Marsden (deceased), a barman, in the Parish Church, Stoke Newington. Edith Rose was born about 1881 in Islington and died quarter ending September 1959 in Edmonton, age about 78.
 

They had the following child:

 

(1) Stanley Arthur, born 23/5/1909 in Stoke Newington. Stanley Arthur died quarter ending December 1980 in Chelsea, age 71.
