Third Generation

 

4.  George PARRIS [Parents].  Baptized 4/9/1808 in Plaxtol, George died 25/2/1887 in Dartford, age 78. Occupation: Ag. Labourer.
 

On 28/6/1835, when George was age 26, he married Mary JONES in Ash, Kent. Mary was born 20/11/1814 in Sutton at Hone, Kent and died 5/6/1897, age 82.
 

They had the following children:

 

(1) George, born about 1836. (2) Thomas, born about 1841 in Sutton-at-Hone. (3) Emma, born about 1843 in Ash-next-Ridley. (4) William [8]. (5) Alfred, born 18/3/1848 in Ash-next-Ridley and died 1/1/1932, age 84. (6) Frederick, born about 1850 in Ash-next-Ridley. (7) Edward, born quarter ending December 1852 in in Ash-next-Ridley. (8) Fanny, born about 1855 in in Ash-next-Ridley.

 

5.  George PARRIS [Parents].  Baptized 8/5/1814 in Offham, George died 30/6/1897.  Occupation: Ag. Labourer.
 

On 22/11/1834, when George was age 20, he married Susanna BURNETT in Ash, Kent.  Susanna was born about 1815 and died 18/12/1899 in Trosley, Kent.

 

They had the following children, all baptized in Trottiscliffe:

 

(1) James, baptized 14/4/1836 and died 17/4/1836. (2) William, baptized 8/1/1837. (3) George [9]. (4) Sarah Ann, baptized 9/5/1841. (5) John, baptized 14/5/1843. (6) William, baptized 18/5/1845. (7) Thomas [10]. (8) Emily, baptized 5/8/1849. (9) Joseph Henry, baptized 27/4/1851. (10) Harriet, baptized 12/12/1852. (11) Robert Friend [11]. (12) Fanny Ellen, baptized 5/2/1860.
 

6. Thomas PARRIS [Parents]. Baptized 28/3/1819 in Offham, Kent. Thomas died 30/11/1884, age about 65.
 

On 21/11/1841, when Thomas was age about 22, he married Eliza Ann BARDEN in Offham.

 

They had the following children, all born in Offham:

 

(1) Eliza Ann, born 1842. (2) James, born 1844 and died by execution 1/8/1876 in Maidstone, age about 32.  (3) George, born 1846. (4) Harriet, born March 1848.  In the quarter ending  June 1883, when Harriet was age  about 35, she married James CORK in Maidstone.  (5) Thomas, born 1850. (6) William, born 1852. (7) Fanny, born 1861.

 

7.  James PARRIS [Parents].  Baptized 17/6/1821 in Offham, Thomas died 1/7/1897,age 76.  Occupation: Ag. Labourer.
 

In the quarter ending June 1845, when James was age about 23, he married Harriet NEVE.
 

They had the following children, all born and baptized in Offham:
 

(1) Bertha, baptized 29/10/1848 and died November 1852 age 4 (buried 21/11/1852). (2) William, baptized 30/11/1851 and died 30/9/1852 age 10 months (buried 10/10/1852). (3) Mary Ann, baptized 21/5/1854. (4) Emily, baptized 10/5/1857. (5) Frederick, baptized 17/6/1862 and died April 1864 age 1 year, 10 months (buried 14/4/1864). (6) James, baptized 17/6/1862. (7) Ernest William, baptized 19/8/1866.

 

 

Fourth Generation

 

8.  William PARRIS [Parents]. Baptized 7/9/1845 at St Peter & St Paul Church, Ash-Next-Ridley.  It is not known when William died but it was after 1901; he appears in that year’s census.
 

William married Emma TAYLOR, date not known. Emma was born 5/11/1850 in Horley, Surrey and died 24/12/1930 in Dartford, age 80.
 

They had the following children, all born in Dartford:
 

(1) Ethel Adelaide, born quarter ending June 1876. (2) Mabel Emma, born about 1880. (3) Frederick William, born about 1881. (4) Percy Thomas, born quarter ending March 1884. (5) Elsie Fanny, born quarter ending September 1886. (6) William George, born 2/6/1889. William George died 19/10/1950 in Luton, age 60. On 23/5/1912, when William George was age 22, he married Gladys Lillian SEWELL in Bexleyheath.
 

9.  George PARRIS [Parents]. Born 25/12/1838 and baptized 8/1/1839 in Trottiscliffe. George died quarter ending June 1906 in Malling. Occupation: Ag. Labourer.
 

On 24/7/1869, when George was age 30, he married Emily TOMKIN, daughter of William TOMKIN and Ruth LANGLEY, in Malling.  Emily was born about 1840 in Ightham.
 

They had the following children:

 

(1) George, baptized 16/10/1870 in Leybourne. (2) William Friend, born quarter ending March 1872 in Leybourne. (3) Clara Ruth, born quarter ending June 1877 in Wrotham. (4) Albert Thomas, born quarter ending September 1882 in Wrotham.
 

10.  Thomas PARRIS [Parents]. Born 27/1/1847 in Offham, Thomas died after 1901 - he appears in that year’s census. Occupation: Ag. Labourer.
 

On 22/8/1868, when Thomas was age 21, he married Eliza Mary Thirza ROOTS in Trottiscliffe Parish Church. Eliza was born about 1847 in Trottiscliffe.
 

They had the following children, all events in Trottiscliffe (unless it says otherwise):

 

(1) Annie Eliza, born 11/6/1869, baptized 25/7/1869 and died age 1. Buried 31/7/1870. (2) Bertha Harriet, born 25/2/1871 and baptized 9/4/1871.  On 27/7/1906, when Bertha was age 35, she married Thomas Walter STOCKLEY.  Bertha Harriet died 9/7/1936, age 65. (3) Thomas Henry, born 30/7/1873 and baptized 24/8/1873. Thomas Henry died age 5 months and was buried 4/1/1874. (4) Charles John, born quarter ending March 1875. (5) Mildred Rose, born 2/9/1877 and baptized 28/10/1877. (6) George, born 18/4/1880 in Addington, Kent and baptized 4/7/1880. (7) Lilian Nellie, born 11/1/1883 in Addington and baptized 22/4/1883. (8) Cecil Arthur, born quarter ending September 1880 in Addington. (9) Winifred Emily, born quarter ending December 1888 in Addington. (10) Harry, born quarter ending March 1891 in Addington. Harry died quarter ending June 1896, age 5.
 

11.  Robert Friend PARRIS [Parents] Baptized 16/11/1856 in Trottiscliffe, Robert died in January 1936 in Malling, age 70. Occupation: Ag. Labourer.

 

On 3/6/1880, when Robert was age 24, he married Harriet VENISON in Malling.  Harriet was born about 1855 in Meopham and died 19/8/1942.
 

They had the following children, all born Trottiscliffe:

 

(1) Winifred Annie, born 10/7/1881, baptized 21/8/1881. (2) Constance Gertrude, born 25/11/1882, baptized 31/12/1882. Constance Gertrude died 3/1/1973 age 90. (3) Florence Kate, born 7/9/1884, baptized 26/10/1884. Florence Kate died 10/4/1968 age 83. (4) Leonard Friend, born 12 July 1887, baptized 24/7/1887. (5) Wilfred Harry Ray, born 17/6/1889, baptized 4/8/1889. Wilfred died 1959, age about 70. (6) Edward Venison, born 1/10/1892, baptized 17/10/1892. Edward died 20/10/1892.
