Transcript of the Last Will & Testament of John Mallalieu
The passage in the Will that left Runninghill to his daughter Patience Mallalieu is in bold. Thanks to Linda Cooper for the transcript.
I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form; Imprimis I give to Mary Mallalue wid the one half of the Rent of my Land and Ground to receive yearly for her own profit and use during her life.
Item I give to Jane the daughter of Mary Mallalue Ten shilling
Item I give to Mary the daughter of Mary Mallalue twenty shilling.
Item I give to Dorothy the daughter of Mary Mallalue twenty shilling.
Item I give to John the son of Sarah Farrand wid twenty shilling.
Item I give to Thomas son of Sarah Farrand wid twenty shilling.
Item I give to Patience the daughter of Mary Mallalue all my land and ground lying at Runninghill in Sadleworth Which I purchased of Thomas Bradbury with all my Goods chattels and Moveable effects whatsoever that are not given by me before: But if Patience Mallalue dye without Lawfull Issue I give and bequeth my Land and Ground above named to be equally divided amongst all the children of Mary Mallalue which I ham unkle unto with all other Goods whatsoever; Likewise I constitute make and ordain Jonathan Mallalue and Mary Mallalue wid Executors of this my Last Will and Testament; And I do hereby disallow and utterly revoke and disannull all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacies and Bequests and Executors by me in anyways before named Willed and Bequeathed: Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
