25.  Henry PARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending June 1861 in Halling.  Henry died about 1918, age 57. Occupation: Labourer, chalk pit.
 

On 30/4/1883 when Henry was 21, he married Eleanor-Sarah Turner CRADDUCK, daughter of Thomas Turner CRADDUCK & Maria HOMEWOOD, at St Mary’s Church, West Malling.
 

They had the following child:

 

(1) Eleanor Maud, born 22/10/1883 in West Malling and died quarter ending June 1886 in Strood, age 2.

 

On 19/10/1885 when Henry was 24, he married Ellen TOMKIN, daughter of George Richard TOMKIN & Ansley TAPP, in Stansted.  Born on 1/10/1863 in Dunks Green, Wrotham, Ellen was baptized 25/10/1863 in Plaxtol and died 24/8/1943 at 1 Pilgrim Cottages, Upper Halling, age 79.  Buried 26/8/1943 in Halling.
 

They had the following children:

 

(1) Emily Phyllis, born 3/8/1888, 11 Barn Meadow Cottages, Halling. On 11/10/1915, when Emily was age 28, she married Tom GREEN, son of William GREEN , a retired Minister, at the Parish Church, Halling. Emily’s sister Mary was a witness. Emily Phyllis died in 1964, age 75.  (2) Mary, born 1889. On 10/1/1914, when Mary was age 25, she married Edmund George DODGE at the Parish Church, Halling.  (3) Annie, born about 1891.  Annie died 27/11/1979, age 89, in Halling.  On 26/4/1911, when Annie was age about 20, she married Frederick Charles DODGE at the Parish Church, Halling. Frederick Charles died 4/3/1968, age 76, also in Halling.  (4) Emma, born 12/9/1891 and baptized (as an adult) 1/12/1926.  (5) Nellie, born 17/4/1896 in Halling, Kent and baptized (as an adult) 1/12/1926 . On 22/1/1918, when Nellie was age 21, she married Edgar STEVENS at the Parish Church, Halling.  (6) William, born about 1899. William was imprisoned by the Japanese during World War 2.  (7) Rhoda, Born 29/6/1901 and baptized as an adult 6/4/1930 at St John the Baptist, Halling. Rhoda died 28/10/1965, also in Halling.  She married Daniel George ROOTS. (8) Leslie [45].  (9) Evelyn Frances, born 20/2/1907 in Halling. On 23/8/1930, when Evelyn was age 23, she married George Rowland BLACKMAN at the Parish Church, Halling.
 

26.  Alfred George PARRIS [Parents]. Born 30/5/1863 in Halling and died in 1916 age 53.  Buried 15/4/1916 in Halling.
 

On 24/7/1882, when Alfred George was age 19, he married Mary Ellen CAPON, daughter of James CAPON, at St Mary Parish Church, Strood. Mary Ellen was born 1/10/1862 in Snodland.
 

They had the following children:

 

(1) Ada Rebecca Capon, born 30/5/1883 in Snodland. On 28/11/1903, when Ada was age 20, she married Ernest John MAYATT, son of William MAYATT & Amelia MONK, at the Parish Church, Halling.  (2) Cicely M E, born about 1885 in Snodland.  (3) George Edmund Wood, born 4/6/1886 in Birling.  (4) William Henry James, born 4/6/1888 in Birling.  (5) James Capon [46].  (6) Jane Frances, born 1/4/1892 in Hoxton, London.  (7) Rosalind May, born 13/9/1893 in Hoxton.  (8) Alfred Thomas, born 29/11/1894 in Hoxton.  Alfred Thomas died 3/6/1984 in Snodland, age 89. On 27/3/1915, when Alfred was age 20, he married Alice Mary ALLINGHAM in Malling.  (9) Ernest Albert Victor, born 3/9/1896 in Upper Halling.  (10) Violet Ruth, born 9/8/1898 in Upper Halling.  (11) Grace Evelyn, born 16/6/1900 in Upper Halling.  (12) Elsie Constance Naomi, born 17/7/1902 in Upper Halling.  (13) Alfred Richard J, born 3/7/1904 in Upper Halling.  (14) Augustus Claude, born 12/7/1906 in Upper Halling and died age 2 months. Buried 29/9/1906 in Halling.
 

27.  Edward PARRIS [Parents].  Born quarter ending September 1874 in Halling.  Edward died in 1915 age about 41. Occupation: Lime Labourer.

In the quarter ending September 1897, when Edward was age about 23, he married Ada Emily EDMONDS in Strood.  Ada Emily
was born about 1868 in Hornsey, Middlesex.

 

They had one known child:

 

(1) Edward William, born quarter ending March 1900 in Halling, Kent.

28.John Alfred PARRIS [Parents]. Born 21/2/1852, in Halling, Kent and baptized 13/6/1852, John Alfred left England in 1858 with his parents to start a new life in Somonauk, Illinois, USA.  John Alfred died in 1919 and was buried in Sandwich cemetery.
 

On 21/2/1887 on his 35th birthday, John Alfred married Elizabeth SMITH, daughter of Charles SMITH, a native of New York, in Sandwich, Illinois, USA.
 

They had the following children:

(1) Eva Gladys, born in Illinois, USA.  (2) John Henry [47].

 

29.Mark PARRIS [Parents]. Baptized 30/10/1853 at St John the Baptist Church, Halling. He emigrated with his parents and siblings to the USA in 1858. Mark probably died before 1/4/1930 - he does not appear in the US Federal census taken that day.  Occupation: Farmer.
 

On 9/8/1874, when Mark was age 20, he married Matilda WANTZ in De Kalb County, Illinois, USA.  Matilda was born June 1859 in Illinois of German parents. Matilda probably died before 1/4/1930 - she does not appear in the US Federal census taken that day.
 

They had the following children, all born Illinois:

 

(1) Olive, born about 1876.  (2) Edna, born May 1886.  (3) Iva, born October 1891.
 

30.Henry J. PARRIS [Parents].  Born quarter ending March 1856 in Halling, Kent.  He emigrated with his parents and siblings to the USA in 1858. It is not known when he died. Occupation: Farm labourer.
 

On 11/7/1875, when Henry was age 19, he married Julia A. RICE in De Kalb County, Illinois. Julia was born February 1856 in New York. It is not known when she died.
 

They had two children; only one is known:

 

(1) Ella M, birth date unknown.
 

31.William PARRIS [Parents].  Baptized 21/2/1858 at St John the Baptist Church, Halling. He emigrated with his parents and siblings to the USA in 1858.  It is not known exactly when William died but it was after 1/4/1930 - he appears on the Federal census taken that day.  Occupation: Labourer; janitor.
 

Around 1879, when William was age about 21, he married Eliza F. ANGIER, daughter of Thomas & Fannie ANGIER, in Illinois. Eliza was born about 1860 and probably died before 1/6/1900 - she does not appear in the US Federal census taken that day.
 

They had the following children, both born Illinois:

 

(1) A female, name unknown, born 1880.  (2) Mabel, born October 1882.
 

32.Amos Theodore PARRIS [Parents].  Born 27/12/1860 in Somonauk County, Illinois, USA.  Amos Theodore died 23/12/1946, probably in Nebraska, age 85. Occupation: Grain dealer; Miller.
 

On 15/11/1880, when Amos Theodore was age 19, he married Ella Nora PELKA. Ella Nora was born April 1861 in Illinois. It is not known when she died.
 

They had seven children; those known were:

 

(1) Herbert R. [48].  (2) Harry Archie [49].  (3) Glenn E. [50].  (4) Lawrence [51].  (5) Mildred E, born about 1902 in Aurora, Hamilton County, Nebraska.

 

33.Albert Ernest PARRIS [Parents]. Born 8/12/1862, in Sandwich, DeKalb County, Illinois, USA.  Albert Ernest died on 12/9/1944 in Geneva, Fillmore County, Nebraska, USA age 81.  He was buried on 14/9/1944.
 

On 15/5/1844 Albert Ernest married Mary Elizabeth McCANN in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.  Justice Sedgewick officiated.  Born 1/3/1870 in Milwaukee, Mary Elizabeth died on 20/2/1944 in Geneva, Fillmore County, Nebraska, USA age 74.
 

They had the following children:

 

(1) Ida Dora, born 21/3/1887 in Sandwich, Illinois.  (2) Lillie Blanch [52].  (3) Arthur Lee, born 16/2/1889 in Aurora, Nebraska.  Arthur Lee died 12/9/1965 in Wadsworth, Kansas and buried in the Veterans’ cemetery there.  (4) Bonnie Beryl [53].
 

34.Melvin PARRIS  [Parents]. Born January 1864 in Illinois, Melvin died 14/7/1927 in Sandwich, De Kalb County Illinois, age 63. Occupation: Labourer.
 

Around 1886/1887 when Melvin was age 22/23, he married Emma (maiden name and exact date of marriage unknown). Emma was born December 1867 in England. It is not known when she died.
 

They had the following children who were all born in Sandwich, De Kalb County, Illinois (except Ethel):

 

(1) Ethel, born December 1887 in Nebraska.  (2) Ralph, born April 1890.  (3) Bessie, born January 1892.  (4) Irene, born October 1894.  (5) Clifford, born July 1897.  (6) Jeanette, born May 1900.  (7) Joan, born about 1902.  (8) Hazel, born about 1904.  (9) Kenneth, born about 1911.
