First Generation
1. William BURRIDGE. Baptized 31/3/1793 in Sandridge, Hertfordshire, William was
the son of William and Elizabeth Burridge. He died quarter ending June 1849 in St
Albans, age about 56.
On 1/2/1817, William married Mary PERKINS at St Peter, St Albans. Mary was born about
1791 in St Albans and died, aged 82, in quarter ending June 1873, also in St Albans.
They had the following children, all baptized at St Peter, St Albans:
(1) Joseph, baptized 2/5/1819. (2) Mary Ann, baptized 25/3/1821. (3) Harriett [2]. (4) Esther, baptized 6/8/1826. (5) Edmund [3]. (6) Thomas, 14/8/1831. (7) Elizabeth Anna, baptized 3/1/1836.

Second Generation
2. Harriett BURRIDGE [Parents]. Baptized 19/10/1823 at St Peter, St Albans. Harriett
died sometime between the 1891 and 1901 census but the exact date is as yet unknown.
Harriett had the following children who would, at the time, have been considered
illegitimate. All were baptized at St Albans Abbey:
(1) Sydney Edward Perkins [4]. (2) Mary Ann Elizabeth, baptized 29/6/1862 at St
Albans Abbey. (3) Catherine Ann Matilda, baptized 29/6/1862 at St Albans Abbey.
(4) Esther Rose, baptized 29/6/1862 at St Albans Abbey. On 18/5/1882, when Esther
Rose was age about 20, she married Frederick George HARRIS, son of Thomas HARRIS
& Eliza HEATHFIELD, at St James Parish Church, Kensington, Surrey. Esther Rose died
31/1/1921 in St Albans, age about 66. Esther was buried in February 1921 at Hatfield
Road Cemetery, St Albans.
Harriett married William GROVER (date unknown). William was born 24/11/1813 in Sarratt,
Herts and baptized 23/12/1813 in Aldenham, Herts. He died sometime between the 1881
and 1891 census but the exact date is unknown.
They had the following children:
(1) Thomas William, baptized 30/10/1864 at St Albans Abbey. In the quarter ending
December 1884, when Thomas
was age about 20, he married Elizabeth BRANDON in Wandsworth,
which at that time was in Surrey. Elizabeth was
born about 1864 in Belfast, Ireland.
(2) Harriet Helena, baptized 11/6/1867 at St Peters, St Albans.
(3) George William,
baptized 31/7/1870 in St Albans Abbey. George William died quarter ending September
1874,
age 4, also in St Albans.
3. Edmund BURRIDGE [Parents]. Baptized 21/9/1828 in St Peter, St Albans. Edmund
appears to have been known as Edward during his lifetime. This is the name recorded
in censuses and used for his death registration in quarter ending December 1885 in
Paddington, where he died age 57.
On 13/3/1850, when Edmund was age 21, he married Eliza TARBOX at St Peters, St
Albans. Eliza was born about 1826 in Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire. It is not known
when she died.
They had the following children:
(1) Horace William, born March 1851 in St Albans. (2) Thomas William [5]. (3) Arthur, born 3/4/1856 in St Pancras, Middlesex and baptized there 17/4/1856 . Arthur died quarter ending March 1858, age 1. (4) Herbert Edward [6]. (5 Harriet Elizabeth, born 7/12/1860 in St Pancras and baptized 30/12/1860 at Holy Trinity Church, St Marylebone. Harriet died quarter ending September 1862, age about 18 months. (6) William Henry [7]. (7) Edward, born about 1863 in London and died quarter ending September 1881, age about 18.

Third Generation
4. Sydney Edward Perkins BURRIDGE [Parents]. Born 28/6/1845 in St Albans and baptized
22/2/1846 at St Peter, St Albans. No father is named on his birth or marriage certificates.
Sydney died sometime between the 1891 and 1901 census but the exact date is unknown.
On 5/7/1874, when Sydney was age 29, he married Emily SMITH, daughter of William
SMITH, a Bricklayer, at Lambeth Register Office. Emily was born about 1848 in Coggeshall,
Essex. Emily died sometime after March 1901 but the exact date is unknown.
Sydney and Emily had no children.
5. Thomas William BURRIDGE [Parents]. Born quarter ending September 1853 in St
Albans. It is not known when Thomas died but it was after the 1901 census, in which
he appears.
In the quarter ending March 1884, when Thomas was age about 30, he married Ellen
CODEY in London. Ellen was born about 1848 at St Giles in the Fields, London.
They had the following children, both born in St Clement Danes, Westminster:
(1) Ellen Margaret, born quarter ending December 1885. (2) Florence, born quarter
ending June 1889.
6. Herbert Edward BURRIDGE [Parents]. Born 31/7/858 in St Pancras, London and baptized
3012/1860 at Holy Trinity Church, Camden. It is not known when Herbert died but
it was after the 1901 census was taken on 31 March that year. The first name given
for the birth registration was Herbert, but the name given at baptism was Albert,
a name he seems to have been known by -
In the quarter ending September 1878, when Herbert was age about 20, he married Mary
Ann Louise STRACHAN. Mary Ann Louise was born quarter ending March 1864 in Shoreditch
so was just 14 when she presumably lied about her age and married Herbert. Her first
census as a married woman, in 1881, gives her age as 20 (she was 17) but in the 1891
census the age 27 is recorded, which is consistent with an 1864 birth.
They had the following children:
(1) Elizabeth, born quarter ending December 1880 in Southwark. (2) Albert Edward,
born quarter ending March 1884 in Holborn, London. (3) Joseph William, born quarter
ending June 1886 in Southwark. (4) Ellen Louisa, born quarter ending June 1888 in
Southwark. (5) Thomas William, born February 1891 in Southwark. (6) Florence Amelia,
born quarter ending September 1893 in Lambeth. (7) Rose Amelia, born quarter ending
March 1896 in Lambeth. (8) Florence Louisa, born quarter ending September 1898 in
Lambeth. (9) Arthur, born quarter ending March 1900 in Lambeth. (10) George, born
about 1904. (11) Ernest, born quarter ending September 1906 in Lambeth.
7. William Henry BURRIDGE [Parents]. Born quarter ending March 1861 in Lambeth.
It is not known when William died but it was after the 1901 census, in which he
appears.
In the quarter ending September 1889, when William was age about 28, he married Olivia
MOGG in Westminster. Olivia was born quarter ending September 1866 in Somerton,
Somerset.
They had the following children, all born in Sheerness, Kent:
(1) Lilian Olivia, born quarter ending March 1890. (2) William Henry, born quarter ending June 1891. (3) Walter, born quarter ending December 1892.
(4) Bertram Charles, born quarter ending December 1894. (5) Henrietta Mary, born quarter ending December 1896.
