85. Orinea CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 25/3/1860 in Beer, Devon. Orinea died 17/12/1900
at 3 William Street, Marylebone, London. Cause of death certified by E. W. Proctor
MRCS as Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Haemoptysis.
In 1878, when Orinea was age about 18, she married Francis Osmint EBERS. Born 18/2/1860
in Kensington, his birth certificate gives father as Frederick EBERS and mother Sarah
FRY. His marriage certificate gives father as Henry EBERS (deceased). The nature
of Sarah Fry’s relationship with a Henry OSMINT is not known but note Francis’s middle
name and the different birth and marriage entries. Francis died 17/11/1900 age about
41 at Marylebone Infirmary. Cause of death certified by J. Lunn FRCS as Phthisis
(i.e. TB), meningitis. Occupation: Hot Water Fitter.
They had the following children:
(1) Orinea Osmint [106]. (2) Francis, born about 1882. (3) Percival Silas, born quarter ending March 1883 in Marylebone. (4) Henry Osmond, born quarter ending June 1889 in Marylebone. (5) Ethel Beatrice, born quarter ending March 1892 in Marylebone.
86. Silas CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born quarter ending September 1869 in Beer, Devon. Silas
died quarter ending March 1924 in Pontypridd, Glamorgan, age 54. Occupation: Coal
miner and hewer.
In the quarter ending March 1897, when Silas was about 27, he married Sarah CARTER in Pontypridd. Sarah died 1/12/1951 in Swansea, age about 73. Following Silas’ death Sarah married twice: to George VOWLES in 1924 and, following his death in 1934, Edwin Thomas DAY in 1936. Edwin was the father of Enid DAY who married Silas’ son William James.
They had the following children:
(1) Margaret Ann, born in the quarter ending September 1898 in Treforest, Glamorgan.
(2) Mary Elizabeth (known as Lizzie), born quarter ending December 1900 in Treforest.
(3) Silas William James, born in the quarter ending June 1903 in Pontypridd and
died there quarter ending December 1905, age 2. (4) Charles Henry, born quarter ending
September 1905 in Treforest. (5) William James, born in the quarter ending December
1908 in Treforest . (6) Florence, born quarter ending September 1913 in Pontypridd.
(7) Grace, born quarter ending September 1919 in Pontypridd.
87. William CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born quarter ending December 1863 in Dorset Square,
Marylebone. It is not known when William died. Occupation: Fisherman.
In the quarter ending September 1884, when William was age about 21, he married Fanny
HAIRS in Axminster. Born about 1863 in Seaton & Beer, Fanny died quarter ending March
1894 in Axminster, age 30.
They had the following child:
(1) Thomas, born quarter ending June 1885 in Axminster.
In quarter ending December 1894, when William was age about 31, he married Bessie HORNER. Bessie was born quarter ending March 1866 in Colyford.
They had the following child:
(1) Hilda May, born quarter ending September 1895 in Axminster.
88. Joseph CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born about 1868 in Manchester Square, Marylebone.
It is not known when Joseph died but it was after 31/3/1901; he appears in the census
taken that day. Occupation: Baker.
In quarter ending March 1891, when Joseph was age about 22, he married Gertrude PALMER
in Christchurch, Hampshire. Gertrude was born about 1870 in Blandford, Dorset.
They had the following children, both born in Bournemouth:
(1) Hilda Gertrude, born quarter ending September 1892. (2) Eric Ainsworth, born quarter ending September 1898. (3) Ivor Miller, born 8/7/1901, died quarter ending March 1971 in Christchurch, age 69.
89. William Allan CHAPPLE
[Parents]. Born 14/7/1864 in Alexandra, New Zealand. William
Allan died 19/10/1936 in London, age 72. He trained as a
doctor in New Zealand and
had a high profile practice, which he combined with a number of business ventures
and local politics. William also represented the Tuapeka electorate in the New Zealand
House of Representatives from June to October 1908 after a by-
On 1/1/1891 when William Allan was 26, he married Sarah Douglas TURNBULL, in Wellington,
New Zealand. Born in 1870 in San Francisco, USA. Sarah died in the quarter ending
December 1954 in Cuckfield, Sussex, age 84.
They had the following children:
(1) Louisa Douglas, born 1892 in Motueka, NZ. Louisa Douglas died in England. Louisa Douglas married Cedric BLAKER. (2) Nelca Allan, born 1894 in Wellington, NZ. Nelca Allan married Eric GRIMBLE. (3) Elizabeth Ewing, born 1896. Elizabeth Ewing married Charles BODINGTON. (4) Jean Stewart, born 1900. (5) & (6) Twins, names unknown, born and died 1905.

[Parents]. Born 9/2/1866. Emma Josephine died 3/2/1945
in Auckland, New Zealand, age 78. Occupation: School teacher.
On 30/3/1899 when Emma Josephine was 33, she married Adolphe Monod FEIST, in Petone,
New Zealand. Born on 25/4/1870 in Wellington, New Zealand. Adolphe Monod died 9/11/1936
in Papatoetoe, New Zealand, age 66.

On 5/9/1928 when Allan Chapple was 27, he married Lydia Margery PARLOUR. Born on 15/7/1900, Lydia Margery died 5/3/1987, age 86. (2) Murray Holman, born 23/4/1903 in Ohau, NZ. Murray Holman died 28/12/1977 in Auckland, NZ, age 74. Occupation: Presbyterian minister. On 12/3/1930 when Murray Holman was 26, he married Ethel Maud Elizabeth MOODY, in Dunedin, NZ. Born on 22/9/1907, Ethel Maud Elizabeth died 15/9/1985, age 77.

(3) William Allan, born 19/8/1900 in Waipukurau, NZ. William Allan died 7/4/1962 in Christchurch, NZ, age 61. (4) Thomas Wylie, born 1905. Thomas Wylie died 24/7/1958 in Christchurch, NZ, age 53. (5) Douglas Chapple, born 15/2/1909 in Christchurch, NZ. Douglas Chapple died 11/7/1968 in Palmerston North, NZ, age 59. Douglas Chapple married Eleanor Johnston MACGIBBON. Born 24/1/1908 in Invercargill, NZ. Eleanor Johnston died 15/2/1990 in Auckland, NZ , age 82.

On 3/3/1904 when Eleanor Cole was 32, she married Adolph ZIMPEL, in Waipukurau, NZ.
The family name was subsequently anglicised to TEMPLE. Born 1865 in Vienna, Austria,
Adolph died 1931 in Malve, NZ, age 66.
They had one child:
(1) Allan Henderson, born in 1905. Allan Henderson died 1983, age 78. Allan Henderson married Bernice Edna LEY in Australia.
94. Robert John CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 15/6/1854 in Exeter. Robert John died 6/4/1902
in Leeds, age 47. Buried 4/1902 in Woodhouse cemetery, Leeds.
On 20/12/1883 when Robert John was 29, he married Emma Jane Eliza PIGGOTT, in Leeds.
