3. Jonathan William JONES. Born 1858 in Walsall, Jonathan died 1923 in Oakham, Leicestershire, age given as 64. Occupation: General agricultural labourer. On 16/1/1883, when Jonathan was age 24, he married Ellen HARRIS, daughter of William HARRIS & Rebecca CULPIN in Owston Parish Church, Leicestershire, with the Rector of Knossington, J. H. M. de Mowbray, officiating. Ellen was born 1860 in Owston. It is not known when she died. They had the following children, all born Knossington:
(1) Jane Ellen, born 1883. (2) William Osman . (3) Frederick Richard . (4) Fanny Elizabeth, born 29/1/1888. Fanny Elizabeth died 1971, age 83. In 1915, when Fanny was age about 26, she married Caleb Henry CHAPMAN (known as Harry) in Plomesgate, Suffolk. (5) Stanley Jonathan, born 1891. Stanley served as a gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery between 15/2/1915 & 29/7/1920 when he was discharged at his own request on payment of £25 (around £1,100 today). It is not known when Stanley died. On 1/11/1919, when Stanley was age 28, he married Fredericka May BUCKLEY in Steyning, Sussex. Fredericka was born March 1885 in Watford & died 17/3/1920 in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, age 35. Cause of death certified by A. G. St Ledger as (1)Influenza 5 days (2) Pneumonia 1 day. Stanley’s address on the death certificate was given as Moore Park, Killworth, Co. Cork where he was serving at the time. There is no evidence they had any children. (6) Jessica Mary, born 1894. (7) Geoffrey Charles Harris, born 1896. Geoffrey died 1968 in North Yorkshire, age 72. On 30/6/1923, when Geoffrey was age 27, he married Phyllis Mary BROWN, daughter of Maurice BROWN, a farmer, & Esther Ann HAIGH at Leeds Parish Church. Phyllis was born 23/6/1896 in Thorner & died quarter ending December 1977 in North Yorkshire, age 81. It’s not known whether they had any children. (8) John Henry, born 1899.
