9. William Robert PARRIS [Parents]. Born in 1805 in Meopham, Kent. William Robert was baptized in Meopham 17 March 1805. Occupation: agricultural labourer.
On 11/9/1826 when William was 21, he married Margaret DULLER in Frindsbury, Kent. Born in 1810 in St Margaret’s Hoo, Kent, Margaret died in 1873, age 63.
They had the following children:
i. William [16] (1828-1901)
ii. Matilda, baptized 9/5/1830 and died, age about 12 in 1842, both events in Cooling, Kent.
iii. Mary, baptized 18/3/1832 in Cooling, Kent.
iv. Elizabeth, baptized 6/4/1834 in Cooling, Kent.
v. Margaret, baptized 6/9/1835 in Cliffe at Hoo, Kent.
vi. Sarah, born 1839.
vii. Rebecca, born 21/11/1841. On 25/2/1860, when Rebecca was age 18, she married Edward PAYNE, son of James and Ellen Payne, in Frindsbury, Kent.
viii. Sophia, born 1849 in Cliffe at Hoo, Kent and died 16/3/1917. Sophia was buried in St Helen's Church, Cliffe at Hoo, Kent.
 10. William PARRIS [Parents]. Baptized 24/1/1837 at Borough Green Baptist Church, Wrotham, Kent. William died quarter ending June 1914 in Chislehurst, Kent, age 77. Occ: Labourer.
In the quarter ending September 1861, when William was age 24, he married Sarah MUNN in Dartford, Kent. Born about 1833 in Swanscombe, kent, it is not known when Sarah died.
They had the following children:
i. Sarah, born quarter ending September 1862 in Swanscombe, Kent.
ii. William [17] born 1863.
iii. Arthur [18] born 1867.
iv. Annie, born 1873 in Chislehurst, Kent.
 11. John PARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending June 1840 in Stansted, Kent, John died quarter ending September 1886 in Lambeth, London, age 46. Occ: John was an ordinary seaman in the Royal Navy and was variously described as a Navy pensioner (on his children’s birth certificates), a rigger in a naval dockyard and a greengrocer (in the census).
In the quarter ending June 1867, when John was age about 27, he married Ellen BLAKE in Sheppey, Kent. Ellen was born about 1850 on Jersey, Channel Islands and died quarter ending September 1880 in Sheppey, age about 30.
They had the following children:

ii. Ellen Catherine, born quarter ending June 1869 in Sheerness, Kent.
iii. Ada Elizabeth, born quarter ending September 1870 in Sheerness, Kent.
iv. Catherine, born quarter ending September 1874 in Chatham, Kent.
v. Flora, born about 1878 in Strood, Kent.
In the quarter ending Decenber 1880, when John was age 40, he married Elizabeth Julia SULLIVAN in Sheppey, Kent. Elizabeth Julia was born about 1856 in Upnor, Kent.
They had the following children:
i. Ernest John [20]
ii. Reginald, born 16/8/1884 in Peckham, London.
iii. Victor, born quarter ending September 1910 in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Victor died in 1996, age about 86.
iv. Alfred, born 1912 and died 1989, age about 77.
After John’s death in 1886, Elizabeth married Cyrus TIPPER in the quarter ending March 1891, in Portsea, Hampshire.
12. William PARRIS [Parents]. Baptized 3/5/1829 in Halling, Kent. William died quarter ending March 1889 in the Strood district of Kent, age about 59. Occupation: Chalk Digger.
On 20/5/1850 when William was 21, he married Mary LUCHFORD, daughter of William & Mary LUCHFORD, in Halling, Kent. Mary was born 1832 in Snodland, Kent and baptized there 15/7/1832.
They had the following children:

ii. Thomas P [22] (1853-1892)
iii. James [23] (1857-)
iv. Richard John [24] (1859-1942)
v. Henry [25] (1861- about 1918)

13. John Alfred PARRIS  [Parents]. Born in 1831 in Halling, Kent and baptized there 27/6/1832. It is not known when John died but he was known to be alive in 1919.

John A Parris emigrated to the USA in 1858 on "The Star of the West" but his wife and children are not mentioned.
EXTRACT FROM "PAST AND PRESENT OF DE KALB COUNTY" page 533 believed to date from the early 1900s. "John and Eliza (Harris) Parris, were natives of England. Mr Parris lived in that country for many years and in 1858 brought his family to the new world, making his way direct to Illinois. At first he settled on a farm in La Salle county and later owned and cultivated a tract of land there which remained his home for many years. He worked persisently and energetically to secure a good living for his wife and children and, as the years went by, prospered and eventually acquired a comfortable competence which now enables him to live retired in Sandwich, where he has made his home since 1899. In his family were ten children, seven sons and three daughters: John Alfred, Mark, Henry, William, Amos, Bert, Melvin and Ella. The others have passed away."

On 30/7/1849 when John Alfred was 18, he married Eliza HARRIS, in Halling, Kent. Born in 1832 in Halling, Eliza died in Sandwich, DeKalb Co, Illinois, USA in 1911, age 78. At the time of his marriage (1849) John Parris is stated to be "under-age". If 1851 census age is right, he would have been 15/16! Witnesses were Edward Beadle and Eliza Beadle.
They had the following children:
i. John Alfred [29] (1852-1919).
ii. Mark [30] born 1853.
iii. Henry C [31] (1856-1940).
iv. William [32] born 1858.
v. Amos Theodore [33] (1860-1946).
vi. Albert Ernest [34] (1862-1944).
vii. Celia, born about 1864 in Illinois. On 22/5/1895, when Celia was age about 30, she married Charles BURK in Ottawa, La Salle County, Illinois.
viii. Melvin [35] born 1866 in Illinois.
ix. Ella A, born 1868 in Illinois. Ella died in 1959, age 91.
x. Ralph, born about 1869 in Illinois.
14. James G PARRIS [Parents]. Born 1/8/1831 in Halling, Kent. James died in Winamac, Pulaski Co, Indiana in 1904, age 72. Buried in South Lawn, Winomac, Indiana.
On 28/9/1856 when James was 25, he married Fanny Mae BUTLER, in Parish of St Margaret, Rochester. Born on 14/2/1838 in Kent, Fanny Mae died in Winamac, Pulaski Co, Indiana, USA on 12/5/1907, age 69.
They had the following children:
i. Francis (Frank) H, born 18/7/1860 in Illinois. Frank H died in Oklahoma. Occupation: Methodist Minister.
ii. Fanny M, born 28/1/1862 in Illinois. Fanny died in 12/1928, age 66.
iii. Sarah Ellen, born 10/10/1863. Sarah Ellen died in 1873, age 9.
iv. Jane Esther [36] (1865-1914)
v. Cora, born 21/9/1866 in Illinois. Cora died in 1949, age 82.
vi. James William [37] (1867-1949).
vii. Mary Ann, born 12/11/1869 in Illinois. Mary Ann died in 5/1927, age 57.
viii. John Butler [38] born 8/9/1892 in Illinois. John Butler died on 3/12/1936, age 44.
ix. Alice Victoria, born 8/9/1877 in Illinois. Alice Victoria died in 1959, age 81.
15. Amos PARRIS [Parents]. Born in 1844 in Halling, Kent. Amos was baptized in Halling, Kent on 9/6/1844. Occupation: Labourer (1871, 1881); Shopkeeper/grocer (1882); Publican (1891, 1901).
On 16/6/1866 when Amos was 22, he married Mary Ann EVEREST, in Halling, Kent. Born in 1847 in Luddesdown, Kent.
They had the following children:
i. Amos Edwin, born 1868 in Halling, Kent. Buried 25/4/1901in Snodland Cemetery, Kent age 33. Occupation: Ironmonger
ii. Alice, born 1870. Alice married Arthur COKER. Arthur was born about 1870 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They two children Arthur, born about 1892 and Amos, born about 1895, both in Halling, Kent.
iii. Minnie, born 1872. Minnie was baptized in Halling, Kent on 31/3/1872 and died age 13 months in 1873. Buried 1/4/1873 in Halling, Kent.
iv. Charles, born 1874 in Halling. Occupation: Publican's Assistant. Wood carter (1901).
v. Maude Mary, born in 1878 in Halling, Kent. Maude Mary was baptized in Halling, Kent on 5/8/1878 and died age 4 months, 3 weeks in August 1878. Buried 11/8/1878 in Halling..
vi. Victoria, born 1880 in Halling, Kent. Victoria was baptized in Halling, Kent on 27/2/1880, died in 1887, age 7. Buried on 4/3/1887 in Halling.
vii. Arthur, born 1882 in Halling, Kent. Arthur was baptized 5/3/1882 in Halling, Kent and died before 1891.
viii. Cyril James John, born 1883 in Halling, Kent. Cyril was baptized 18/11/1883 at St Margaret’s , Rochester, Kent and died age 11 months in 1884. Buried 20/8/1884 in Halling, Kent.
ix. Lizzie, born 1887 in Halling, Kent. Lizzie was baptized in Halling, Kent on 12/4/1887.
