7. Arthur HARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending June 1851 in Mortimer, Berkshire. Arthur died quarter ending September 1890 in Reading, Berkshire, age 39. Occ: Baker.
In the quarter ending September 1873, when Arthur was age 22, he married Patience Kate CHILDS in Reading. Patience was born about 1851 in Sulhamstead, Berkshire. It is not known when she died.
They had the following children:
i. Arthur William [12]
ii. Edward Childs [13]
iii. Harry, born about 1877 in Reading, Berkshire.
iv. Annie, born quarter ending March 1881 in Reading, Berkshire.
8. George HARRIS [Parents]. Born around May 1849 in Harrold, Bedfordshire and baptized there 27/5/1849. George died quarter ending December 1910 in Northampton, age 61. Occ: Painter & Glazier.
In the quarter ending June 1874, when George was age about 25, he married Clara DOUGLAS in Northampton. Clara was born about 1850 in Northampton. It is not known when she died.
They had the following children:
i. Robert William, born quarter ending June 1875 in Northampton.
ii. William, born about 1877 in Northampton.
iii. Tom George, born around March 1881 in Northampton.
iv. Kate Rostham, born quarter ending March 1886 in Northampton.
9. Thomas HARRIS [Parents]. Born about 1852. Occupation: Carpenter and joiner, known to have worked for Seymour’s Undertakers, St Albans, Herts.
Thomas married Jane, born about 1879.
They had the following children, all born in St Albans, Herts:
i. George Francis, born quarter ending June 1881. Possibly died as infant; George does not appear in the 1891 or subsequent censuses.
ii. Lilian Maud, born quarter ending September 1883.
iii. Jane, born quarter ending December 1885.
iv. Florence Alice, born quarter ending September 1887.
v. Percy, born quarter ending December 1889.
vi. Ernest George, born quarter ending December 1892.
vii. Elsie Mabel, born quarter ending December 1896.
10. Frederick George HARRIS [Parents]. Born on 9/1/1854 in St Albans, Herts. Frederick George died in St Albans, Herts on 7/12/1943, age 89. Buried in December 1943 in Hatfield Road cemetery, St Albans. Occupation: Carpenter, cabinet-maker.
Frederick George married Esther Rose BURRIDGE, daughter of Harriett BURRIDGE. Born about 1858 in St Albans, Herts, Esther Rose was baptized in St Albans Abbey, Herts on 29/6/1862. Esther Rose died in St Albans, Herts on 31/1/1921, age 63. Buried in February 1921 in Hatfield Road cemetery, St Albans.
They had the following children:
i. Arthur Frank [14]
ii. Sydney Thomas [15]
iii. Doris Esther, born on 1/8/1892 in St Albans, Herts. Doris Esther died in Peacehaven, Sussex on 7/1/1968, age 75. Cause of death: Coronary thrombosis; Hypertension; Post influenza bronchitis. On 11/2/1922 when Doris Esther was 29, she married Herbert Henry JONES, son of Richard Williams JONES & Mary LILLYWHITE, in Holy Trinity Church, Penge, London.

11. William Frederick HARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending March 1856 in Thornton, Buckinghamshire. It is not known when William died. Occupation: Brickyard Labourer.
William married Sarah Ellen. No further details are known.
They had the following children:
i. William John, born quarter ending March 1879 in Wellingborough, Northampton.
ii. Alice Rhoda, born quarter ending March 1883 in Wellingborough, Northampton.
iii. Florence Clara, born quarter ending March 1886 in Wellingborough, Northampton.
iv. Jack , born about 1890, in Northampton.
v. Daisy, born quarter ending June 1891 in Northampton.
vi. Elsie, born quarter ending June 1900 in Northampton.
Also William Joseph BAKER, born 1890 in Northampton (All Saints). Recorded in 1891 census as “adopted son”. He does not appear with the family in the 1901 census.
12. Arthur William HARRIS [Parents]. Born about 1873 in Earley, Berkshire. It is not known when Arthur William died. Occ: General labourer.
In the quarter ending September 1895, when Arthur William was age about 22, he married Mary Jane MARSHALL in Newport Pagbell, Buckinghamshire. Mary Jane was born about 1872 in Reading, Berkshire. It is not known when she died.
They had the following children:
i. Lilian May, born quarter ending June 1897 in Stantonbury, Buckinghamshire.
ii. George William, born quarter ending December 1899 in Stantonbury, Buckinghamshire.
13. Edward Childs HARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending December 1874 in Earley, Berkshire. It is not known when Edward Childs died. Occ: General labourer.
In the quarter ending June 1900, when Edward Childs was age 25, he married Caroline HARCOURT, daughter of Isaac HARCOURT and Sarah UMNEY, in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Caroline was born quarter ending June 1882 in Sherington, Buckinghamshire. It is not known when she died.
They had the following child:
i. Lucy Maud, born quarter ending December 1900 in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire.
14. Arthur Frank HARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending December 1883 in St Albans, Herts. Lived in Kilburn, North London.
In the quarter ending December 1907, when Frank was age about 24, he married Louisa Caroline BANWELL, daughter of Henry and Caroline BANWELL, in Marylebone, London. Louisa was born quarter ending June 1885 in Headington, Oxfordshire.
They had the following children:
i. Edward.
ii. Sidney.
15. Sydney Thomas HARRIS [Parents]. Born quarter ending June 1886 in St Albans, Herts. Lived in Cricklewood, North London. Built model steam engines and exhibited at the Science Museum, London.
In the quarter ending September 1911, when Sydney Thomas was age about 25, he married Ellen Elizabeth WALLER, daughter of Joseph WALLER and Eliza PUGH, in St Albans. Ellen Elizabeth was born quarter ending March 1886, also in St Albans.
They had the following children, both born St Albans:
i. Evelyn Kathleen, born quarter ending September 1913.
ii. Edwin Victor, born quarter ending December 1919.
16. Frederick HARRIS [Parents]. Born in 1896 in St Albans, Herts. Occupation: Bank manager. Lived in Harrow, London.
Frederick married Dorothy, date unknown.
They had the following children:
i. John, died age 11.
And 1 child who is still living.
