5. John CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 1587 in Dalwood, Dorset. John died 1629, age 42.
On 3/11/1607, when John was age 20, he married Jane BOLLE. Born 1585, Jane died 10/1/1629, age 44.
They had the following children:
i. James, baptized in Colyton, Devon 15/11/1612.

James Chapple was hanged at Exeter for the murder of Alice Bragg. An Abstract from the Chancery Warrants “24th May. II Charles I. (A.D. 1635) ...... at the Assize held at Exeter on the 18th March 8 Charles I (A.D. 1632) James Chapel and Thomas Whitmore, husbandmen, both of Colliton, in the county of Devon, were convicted of the murder of Alice Bragg, on the previous 2nd of February, by inflicting a mortal wound in her throat, and that John Sampson, of Colliton, gentleman, was also convicted for having aided and abetted the said James and Thomas before the murder, namely on the 31st January before the said 2nd of February, &c. The lands &c of all are therefore forfeited &c. It was found by Inquisition taken at Exeter the 15th January 10 Charles I (A.D. 1635), that the said John Sampson was seized in his demesne as of fee of and in all that late dissolved Chantry of St. John the Baptist in Colcombe within the parish of Colliton and of and in &c. Here follows the description of other property of the said John Sampson: Know ye that we by these presents &c do give &c, to Peter Newton, John Chase of Membury, Henry Godsall of Taunton, merchant, Philip Lissant of Taunton, the younger, mercer, and Robert Carswell of Lyme Regis, mercer, all the said Chantry &c. Delivered to the keeper of the Great Seal to execute on the 4th June, 1635.”

iv. Margaret. On 2/9/1642. Margaret married Henry POLLARD.

vi. Thomasyn. On 4/7/1657. Thomasyn married Philip TICKEN.
6. Philip CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 1599 in Dalwood, Dorset.
In 1620 when Philip was 21, he married Grace HUNT (b 1601).
They had the following children:
i. Philip [10]
ii. Zachary [11]
7. John CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born in 1584. John died in 1670, age 86.
On 27/4/1614, when John was age 30, he married Mary WOODLAND, in Seaton and Beer, Devon. Mary was born about 1586 and died in 1643, age 57.
They had the following children:
i. Nicholas [12]
ii. Jesebee, born in 1618.
iii. Joan, born in 1621. Joan was baptized in Seaton and Beer, Devon on 4/11/1621.
iv. Agnes, born in 1625. Agnes was baptized in Seaton and Beer, Devon on 10/7/1625.
On 5/12/1646 when John was 62, he second married Joan EDWARDS, in Seaton and Beer, Devon. She was born about 1610. Entry Seaton & Beer Parish Register (marriage) reads: “1646: Chappell, John widdowman & Jone Edwards servant unto Mistress Elizabeth Starre, widow 5 Dec”.
8. Robert CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born about 1588 in Axminster, Devon.
Robert’s wife is unknown.
They had the following children:
i. Mary, baptized 21/2/1626 in Axmouth, Devon. Mary died 20/8/1626.
ii. William, died 1697. On 16/5/1654 William married Elizabeth FARRANT (died 1696).
iii. Robert.
iv. Sarah.
v. Susana, born about 1635 in Axmouth, Devon. Susana married John Hawker 23/7/1656.
vi. Judith. Judith married John Horwoode 11/2/1656 at Axmouth, Devon.
vii. Daniell.
9. Richard CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 1582 in Dalwood, Devon.
Richard’s wife is unknown.
They had the following children:
i. Richard [13]
ii. John, born about 1615 in Dalwood, Dorset. John married Grace BRIDLE. Grace was born about 1620.
10. Philip CHAPPLE [Parents]. Philip died in 1683.
In 1654 Philip married Mary BETT. Mary died 1705.
They had the following children:
i. Philip, born 1654. Philip died 1714, age 60.
ii. Betty, born 1668. Betty died 1739, age 71.
11. Zachary CHAPPLE [Parents]. Zachary died in 1695.
Zachary married Joyce {maiden name unknown).
They had one known child:
i. Zachary, born 1655.
12. Nicholas CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 1615. Nicholas was baptized in Seaton and Beer, Devon on 21/6/1615 and died in 1645, age 30.
On 20/7/1640 when Nicholas was 25, he first married Sarah PAULE, in Seaton and Beer, Devon.
They had the following children:
i. Sarah, baptized Seaton and Beer, Devon on 1/1/1640.
ii. Nicholas, baptized in Seaton and Beer, Devon on 20/1/1642.
Nicholas second married Joan EDWARDS, born 1625.
They had the following children:
i. Henry [14]
ii. George [15]
13. Richard CHAPPLE [Parents]. Born 1610 in Dalwood, Devon. Richard died 1670, age 60.
In 1640 when Richard was 30, he first married Margaret WEITH, born 1612. Margaret died 1641, age 29. (Surname could be WORTH.)
They had one known child:
i. Richard [16]
Richard second married Eleanor, maiden name unknown. Born about 1615. Eleanor died in 1674, age 59.
They had one known child:
i. Eleanor, born 1652 in Dalwood, Devon.
