1. John BRADBURY. Saddleworth historical society sources describe him “of Lee Green and Fairbanks”. John’s baptism date is not known. Buried 1/3/1720.
John married Mary BUCKLEY, daughter of Henry BUCKLEY and an unknown spouse. Mary died in 1731 and was buried 29/5/1731.
They had the following children:
i. James [2] (1689-1737)
ii. Thomas (1691-?)
iii. Sarah (about 1694-?)
iv. John [3] (1696-1773)
2. James BRADBURY [Parents]. James was baptized in Saddleworth (St Chads) 29/12/1689. Lived at Fairbanks. Buried 29/10/1737 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. Occupation: Clothier.
On 10/7/1714 James married Mary BENTLEY, in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. Mary was buried 3/12/1764 in Saddleworth.
They had the following children, all baptized St Chads, Saddleworth:
i. John, baptized 1715.
ii. Ann, baptized 1716.
iii. Sarah, baptized 1720. Sarah married Elias BROADBENT of Diggle.
iv. Mary, baptized 1721.
v. Hannah, baptized 1724. Hannah married James BROADBENT of Platt Lane.
vi. Thomas [4] (1726-1778)
vii. Alice, baptized 1729.
viii. James [5] (1732-1804)
ix. Martha (dates not known). Martha married James LEES of Hilltop.
3. John BRADBURY [Parents]. John was baptized in Saddleworth (St Chads) 9/5/1696. Buried 24/1/1773 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. John lived at Fairbanks until his marriage, when he moved to Running Hill.
On 26/2/1722 John married Patience MALLALIEU, daughter of John & Mary MALLALIEU, in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. Patience was baptized in Saddleworth (St Chads) 28/6/1701. She inherited Running Hill Farm from her father. Patience died 1742 and was buried 25/6/1742 in Saddleworth.
They had the following children:
i. James [6] (1729-?)
ii. Mary, baptized 3/2/1724. On 9/4/1752 Mary married Miles SCHOLEFIELD of Castleshaw, in Saddleworth. Mary died 21/3/1769.
iii. John [7] (1727-?)
iv. Henry, baptized 4/7/1731. Buried 19/12/1798 in Saddleworth, age 67.
v. Sarah [8] (1733-?)
vi. Patience, baptized 9/5/1736.
vii. Robert [9] (1738-1827)
viii. Alice, baptized 2/11/1740. On 17/7/1761, when Alice was age 20, she married James FITTON, in Saddleworth.
